Hello from the outsideeeeeeeee (I just can't get that song out of my head)...
I know that it's been a while my friends but I'm back now and foreverrrr.
On today's episode of "Alisha Finds New Things to do with a 4 Year and Photography", I learned how to make a flower headband and made V into a Wilderness Queen.
It's definitely been getting easier to sway V into being my model without bribing her with things. I think that it has a lot to do with the fact that we've evolved from just sitting and shooting and started to do more fun and themed shoots. V was especially excited about her little bird friend, "Treasure", that she got to keep after the shoot. I actually think that she was more excited about the bird than anything, afterwards she ran downstairs and built a nest out of dog hair and leaves that she found on the ground...
I really need to start researching how long it takes to set up the things that I want to use in my photoshoots with V. It took me a little over an hour to make the flower crown, and it wasn't fully covered. Word to the wise, don't use fake leaves that have glitter on them unless you enjoy a nice glitter bath every once and a while. I bought way more flowers than I needed, which is normally good, but I only ended up using a quarter of them.
While shooting, I tried to get a "fake sunlight" effect on her face. Normally, I don't have her sit as close to the light, but I love the way that it turned out. I even got her to look into the light without making faces, which is hard for her because she likes to be silly while I'm shooting. I told V that the "Man on the Moon" was in my light and that she had to show him her nicest face because he was sad and lonely.
I have to say that this is probably my favorite photoshoot that I've done with V thus far, but I say that after every new thing that I try with her. Not only does she help my be more creative, she makes everything more fun.
Until next time busy bees,
