When a long anticipated playdate was cancelled on us yesterday because of a case the sniffles, we were stuck with a long afternoon and nothing to do. According to V, Luca would have been fine if he hadn't eaten those worms the day before.
What could we do that wouldn't be too loud and wake up the baby that was sleeping a few doors down? Grab a camera and have a photoshoot downstairs of course!
We set up some books and got to work (by we, I mean that I set up the books while V discovered toys that she had not seen in 3 hours).
At first I got V to actually "read" her cinderella book, but all of the shots ended up with a book covering her face.
For a four year old, after a while the daunting task of sitting still is the hardest thing in the world. So we started a game of freeze; V would move around as much as she wanted to until I called out "FREEZE", and for a four year old this is fun and challenging.
In the end we got some really awesome pictures done and we were able to do an activity that was both fun and time consuming!
So if you're a parent or a caregiver who is stuck with an afternoon to yourself or a playdate gets cancelled on you, take out your camera or your phone and have fun!
